for years the southern state would arrest Afro Americans on trumped up charges just to get cheap labour - they would be on chain gangs w/no sight of parole or no sight of gettin' out. i had thought that this form of slavery had gone out in the 40's/50's ...it sickened me to read that this was kept enforced up till '65
some of the videos i'm bout to post are of chain gang recordings some of the videos
some of the videos i'm bout to post are of chain gang recordings some of the videos
all kept beat to the rise and fall of the pick axe
some of these tracks would be re recorded later buy other artist in order to keep it alive - being aware or told is the best way to remember those we lost
for me - they (the recordings) have always moved my soul - might sound lame to some but fuck'em - i love what i love
this is why i got into music - something that grabs me from inside
how it some how morphed into this - the gun club - jeffery lee pierce - another of my all time favorite bands that smacked of
southern rawk for me - the blue w/a twist
